The beginning of January saw me in London at the SWPP convention. I had an absolutely amazing time meting many fellow photographer friends and getyting some great training from many of the best photographers in the world, who had gathered at the London Metropole for this amazing week. The Awards Night was the pinnacle of the whole week and having received a Nomination for Photographer of the Year it was a very special ocassion.
I was honestly not disappointed at being pipped at the post to the title of Landscape Photographer of the Year though but that experience has given me the momentum and inspiration to try more landscape work and use perhaps even use those skills more in my weddings.
As noted below I received my first Gold Award in November and with no competition entries in December, January was the first month back after the Christmas and New Year beak. And I was absolutely delighted to be awarded a Highly Commended with my image of the stunning Buachaille Etive Mor, located in Glencoe.
So a great start to 2013 and now I need to keep improving and hopefully striving for more awards.
